Lambrequin in the interior of the living room of 2017
The living room is the visiting card of any home. In this room in the evenings the whole family gathers for rest and socializing, it is here that guests are received on weekends and holidays. Hall or living room must be not easy comfortable, functional and practical, but also beautiful, respectable, stylish. When you design such important premises, every detail is important. It is not surprising that all planning repairers try to plan not only the layout, decoration and choice of furniture for the living room, but also to design a material and a color palette for textile interior design. From the appearance of the drapery of the windows in the hall (and there may be several of them and they can occupy a rather large area of space), the image of the whole room depends to a large extent.
In this publication, we would like to give examples of the use of such a decorative element in the design of window openings, like lambrequin. We hope that you will be able to find interesting variants of decorating windows with lambrequins using the example of design projects of living rooms assembled all over the world.
Classification of lambrequins
So, lambrequin is a decorative element of drapery, which is located in the upper part of the window opening, as a rule, occupies the entire width of the cornice and can perform several functions
-It serves as a decoration for the curtain composition;
-Hides an unsuccessful cornice or blemishes
-Occupies the distance from the ceiling to the window, thereby visually increasing the height of the room;
-Acts as a color or texture accent in the interior, serves as a link between the elements of the environment from different color groups.
It must be said that initially, classical lambrequins were soft, gathered in folds with the help of special braid, were multilayered, compounded. Modern lambrequins look mostly laconic and even severe. But in any case, such a touch in the curtain composition always brings its charm to the image of the whole room, adds to the interior of respectability and makes the decor of the window openings complete.
Rigid lambrequins are a strip of fabric that is placed horizontally over the entire width of the cornice. They can be made of a dense fabric and do not have a substrate – such a lambrequin is also called a “bando”. Or it can be made of any type of textile with an interlayer of nonwoven (the most common method). Rigid lambrequins look very stylish, modern, their geometric rigor introduces completeness into the image of window design.
Figured lambrequin itself can become an accent element of the interior, attracting all views. If you execute this part of drapery of window openings in bright color or substantially different from the general color palette of the interior, then the accent will be most complete.
